Abstract: The Holocaust is very much a constant presence in Israeli society. Since the Second World War when the horrors of the Holocaust were first revealed to the world, many different professions have been influenced by this past, including the medical profession. There are even some who would state that current medical ethics were "born out of the ashes of the Holocaust." This presentation will focus on the influence that the Holocaust had on the medical profession in Israel, in general and on bioethics in particular.
