Science, Religion, and Vaccine Hesitancy

Abstract: This mini-symposium will begin with two presentations on vaccine science and immunization programs, followed by a three-person panel discussing Catholic, Jewish, and Islamic perspectives on vaccines. It will feature speakers Lauren O’Donnell (Duquesne University School of Pharmacy) and Michael Jensen-Seaman (Duquesne University Department of Biology), with panelists Michael Deem (University of Pittsburgh Center for Bioethics and Health Law), Rabbi Seth Adelson (Congregation Beth Shalom, Pittsburgh), and Imam Chris Caras (Islamic Center of Pittsburgh).
