John Lyne particpated in a national conference of the Association for the Rhetoric of Science and Technology, which at its annual business meeting amended the organization's title to Association for the Rhetoric of Science, Technology, and Medicine. The proposal was introduced by alum of Pitt's Bioethics Program, Lisa Keranen, associate professor at the University of Colorado, Denver. John was appointed to the editorial board of the Quarterly Journal of Speech.
