Abstract: Drawing on findings from behavioral science research, Dr. Blumenthal-Barby called into question the idea of the autonomous decision maker. She then explained various "nudge" tools that may be employed to shape patients' medical decisions and analyzed the ethical considerations involved in employing such tools.
