Professional Statement
Ethan J. Silverman, MD, is board-certified in hospice and palliative medicine and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He received his medical degree at Wayne State University and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in Bioethics at the Maclean Center at University Chicago, followed by fellowships in Hospice and Palliative Care and Medical Education at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics.
His ethical work focuses on teaching ethical frameworks to learners, moral distress around end of life care, and communication around serious illness.
